Yesterday, we joined 480+ cities nationwide as part of No ALPRs National Week of Action to say: GET THE FLOCK OUT. 📢

Eyes on San Diego. 👀📸
Flock cameras track where we go and when, collecting information that can turn everyday travel into a record of our lives. 🛰️

This isn’t about having something to hide. It’s about WHO gets to watch us, WHO gets access to that information, and HOW we choose to spend our local resources. ✊🏽

Technology that can track our movements, share our location with immigration enforcement, or facilitate detention and deportation has no place in our communities. $2 million could help our communities, not surveil them. 💸🏽➡️🏘️

If someone followed your every move, you’d call it stalking.
When AI does it… what do we call it?

For immigrant communities, that surveillance carries an especially serious risk when location data can be accessed or shared with agencies involved in immigration enforcement. Technology that can be used to track, target, or facilitate the detention and deportation of our immigrant neighbors has no place in our communities. Our communities deserve privacy, safety, and dignity, not mass surveillance.

Thousands of automated license plate readers are quietly tracking where we drive across Southern California. 👀 Es verdad.

Systems like Flock Safety and Flock Nova can do more than scan license plates–they can create detailed records of where a vehicle goes and who it may be connected to. And when that data is shared or misused, the consequences can affect all of us.
We’ve become so accustomed to surveillance that we sometimes forget to question it.
Pónganse truchas.

FLOCK cameras are all over San Diego. These automated license plate readers track where we go and collect information about our movements. When that surveillance data is shared and misused, local surveillance becomes part of a larger system of enforcement that threatens everyone’s privacy, due process, and the ability of people to move through their days freely and without fear. This puts already vulnerable communities at even greater risk and affects ALL OF US.

It’s not about having "something to hide.” It’s about who gets to watch us, who gets access to that information, and what happens when the rules change.
