Join USS Russell MWR for an afternoon of sun, sand, and great company at Gator Beach, Naval Base Coronado! Bring your family, friends, and shipmates for a fun-filled day by the ocean.

🕚 Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
📍 Location: Gator Beach
Near Silver Strand Boulevard & Tarawa Road
Coronado, CA 92118

🏖️ We’ll be at Cabanas #651 & #652

Enjoy a relaxing day featuring:

The crew of USS Russell, the Red Dragons, proudly celebrated a Change of Command ceremony, honoring the time-honored naval tradition of the formal transfer of authority, responsibility, and accountability from one Commanding Officer to the next.

Today, we bid a heartfelt farewell to CDR Kailey Snyder, whose leadership, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the crew and mission have left a lasting impact on the RUSSELL team. We extend our sincere gratitude for her service and wish her fair winds and following seas as she embarks on her next assignment. We are honored to welcome CDR Andrew Long as the next Commanding Officer of USS Russell.

The officers and crew look forward to serving under your leadership as we continue to strengthen our warfighting readiness, uphold the proud legacy of the Red Dragons, and remain ready to answer our nation’s call.
