🏡We need more homes San Diegans can afford – and we’re putting another $15 million toward getting them built.

Through Bridge to Home, the City of San Diego helps affordable housing projects close funding gaps so they can move from plans to construction.

Since 2021, this program has helped advance nearly 3,000 affordable homes across San Diego, including homes with supportive services for people experiencing homelessness.

We’re using every tool available to build more homes and make San Diego more affordable for working people and families.

Operation Last Call launched over the weekend with additional San Diego Police Department officers stationed in the Gaslamp Quarter to make the neighborhood safer for all who come to enjoy it.

Our message is simple: Violence has no place in Gaslamp.

Thank you to all the police officers and first responders who are working to keep the Gaslamp safe for residents, businesses, and visitors.

🚧 Harbor Drive is ready to go!

After several years of construction, the major sewer main replacement beneath Harbor Drive is complete and all lanes and sidewalks are back open.

Whether you’re heading to Petco Park, walking along the waterfront by the Convention Center, or supporting small businesses in Barrio Logan, getting around this part of San Diego just got easier.

Thank you to our Engineering & Capital Projects team and the construction crews who delivered this major infrastructure project - and to San Diegans for your patience while we got the work done.

🪏San Diego is building more housing, and we’re showing what cities can accomplish when we make it easier to get homes built.

On the National Housing Conference Beyond Four Walls podcast, we discussed how San Diego has nearly doubled its annual housing production, streamlined permitting and advanced policies to make housing more affordable.

There’s more work to do. But we’re showing what’s possible when we cut red tape, try new approaches, and stay focused on building the homes people need.
