🔒 OPSEC & PERSEC REMINDER — PROTECT OUR SAILORS ⚓️
Lincoln Families, as we continue moving closer to the day we have all been waiting for, OPSEC and PERSEC remain extremely important. Our Sailors’ safety must always come first.
Please DO NOT post, share, forward, screenshot, or discuss publicly information regarding:
• Potential or confirmed port calls
• Homecoming dates, times, locations, or countdowns
• Ship movements or future operations
• Communication status, River City, or Wi-Fi availability
• Rumors or speculation about the ship’s schedule or location
• Personal information about Sailors or their families
• Information provided through the Lincoln Ombudsman email distribution list
📧 Information sent through the Ombudsman distro is intended for the recipients of that email. Please do not forward, screenshot, copy, or repost information from those emails unless specifically stated that it is approved for public release.
Even when information comes directly from your Sailor, that does not automatically mean it is safe to share on social media, in public Facebook groups, group chats, or other online spaces.
We understand how exciting it is to hear about a possible port call or to finally begin thinking about homecoming. But no post, countdown, screenshot, or rumor is worth compromising the safety of our Sailors.
⚓️ OPSEC is a team effort. Every family member plays a role in protecting the ship, the crew, and their mission.
We have waited a long time for our Sailors. Let’s do our part to keep them safe so they can make it HOME. ❤️🇺🇸
If you see a potential OPSEC or PERSEC violation, please notify the Lincoln Ombudsman Team rather than engaging with or sharing the post.
Protect our Sailors. Bring them home safely. ⚓️❤️
