So many great organizations came together for Project Homeless Connect (PHC) 85th Community Day of Service, hosted at Bill Graham Auditorium in SF. Well done!

Homeless people had access to dozens of organizations in one big room. They offered a huge variety of support services, from housing and medical care, to employment and healthcare benefits.

Toolworks was honored to help support this important event. Here's to 85 more!

JOB SEEKERS OF TOOLWORKS

We had a great time at the hands-on job fair hosted by The Social Connection. Participants got to meet area employers and service providers to showcase and try out job skills. At the Toolworks table, people could try out skills like sweeping, folding towels, sorting mail, or typing. One participant typed an amazing 95 words per minute with 100% accuracy!

So many people wanted to show off their sweeping skills--our staff had fun creating messes for them to clean up all day! Folks showed they are more than ready to clean up your spreadsheets or your floors.

Are you a person with disabilities that needs to make changes to your housing rules or to your home’s physical structures to make it more accessible? Please join us at this virtual workshop to learn about your rights to do so.

Join us to learn about your right to ask for a “reasonable accommodation” or “reasonable modification” – adjustments to rules, policies, services, and even the physical layout of your home to make it more accessible for you. We will review best practices, discuss potential costs, and go over what to expect once you have made your requests.

Interpretation will be provided if requested at least 1 week before the event date.

Take it from George, “Everyone at Toolworks is a star!”

We are so proud of him—he earned his Janitorial Certification through the Toolworks training program on Treasure Island. He also attends our weekly job training classes for career guidance on resume writing and job searching.

In the Interviewing 101 workshop, George rehearsed interview answers and learned how to highlight his skills and experience.

From behind the camera the dedicated Toolworks staff is cheering him on every step of the way! On three, everyone say “SPOTLESS.”
