Giving Tuesday started in 2012 as a way to encourage people to give to worthy causes and to celebrate the giving spirit. This Giving Tuesday please consider supporting Sloat by donating at www.supportsloat.com. This is the main site for our cash appeal campaign, Sloat's largest annual fundraiser. So far we are 58.5% of the way to our goal of $90,000, with donations ranging from $10 to $10,000. Every dollar matters and is greatly appreciated! All donations fund the following expenses, in alignment with the annual parent spending survey:
Additional classroom staff to support all our students, with extra support for special student populations, including English Learners and those with IEPs
Additional PE staff and exercise time
Additional office staff for administrative support
Special enrichments for all students including art with SF Arts Ed, dance with Nagata Dance, cultural assemblies, field trips, and educational applications for use in the classroom and at home

UPDATE: Out of an abundance of caution, we are switching the upcoming in person school tour from Wednesday January 5th to Friday January 21 from 4:00-5:00. We look forward to meeting all interested families.

Both sessions will include a brief presentation followed by a walking tour of our kinder classrooms and grounds. There will also be time to ask questions of the Principal and current parents of Sloat students. No RSVPs or registrations required, tho please self-screen for any Covid symptoms and wear a mask during the tour. Hello Sloat Community!

Just a friendly reminder that today is Giving Tuesday, and we're hoping our community can come together for a unique opportunity to help us cross the finish line on our Cash Appeal Campaign, the biggest fundraiser at Commodore Sloat. Some Sloat families have offered to match dollar-for-dollar donations -- TODAY ONLY -- up to $7,000. That means your gift is automatically doubled. Have $50? Today it becomes $100! $500 becomes $1000! It is a great opportunity to increase the impact of your donation -- but the opportunity ends after today.

We love our teachers at Commodore Sloat! Several creative and artistic families came to campus this past weekend to make sure that our teachers feel extra appreciated today - the start of Teacher Appreciation Week! We hope they enjoyed these beautiful, fun decorations. This week, make sure the teachers in your life know how valued and important their work is!

On Giving Tuesday please consider donating to the Commodore Sloat Cash Appeal Campaign! This year four families generously volunteered to match dollar for dollar up to $12,500!

This school year is unlike any other and our collective support of Sloat will go a long way to ensure we continue to navigate these challenging times. Currently we are only at a 15% participation rate which is way below what it was at this time last year so donate what you can knowing that it will be doubled! So, $5 becomes $10, $100 becomes $200, and $250 becomes $500!!!

Please help us bridge the gap so we can maintain the level of support and enrichment our teachers and students need and ensure the continuation of our beloved programs and staff.
