Joined hundreds today as we commemorated the 250th anniversary of the , our former military post when San Francisco was a military town. The speakers and our Gold Star families reminded us that freedom endures because brave soldiers have fought for our American ideals and been willing to make the ultimate sacrifice. On this Memorial Day, we salute all who have worn our country’s uniform and their families.

Amazing energy on the streets of the Mission today! Wonderful to join the Carnaval San Francisco parade, celebrating our Latin American communities and the upcoming World Cup. Thanks to everyone in the parade — the lowriders, dancers, singers, musicians, and soccer fans — as well as the event planners & Carnaval producer .

Excited to launch our nation’s largest electric school bus fleet alongside SF school leaders  & our bus drivers. In the Legislature, I introduced the first bill to kickstart the electrification of our state’s school buses to reduce diesel exhaust & improve air quality. As a parent, I’m thrilled we’re investing in our kids’ health and a clean & green future.

Yesterday the Take it Down Act went into effect, a bipartisan federal law requiring social networks to quickly remove AI-generated deepfakes and other nonconsensual imagery. My Office filed a lawsuit against 16 of the world’s largest websites that create and distribute nonconsensual AI-generated po*******hy, and so far 11 of those sites have been shut down. We hope the Take it Down Act will continue this progress to protect the public from and nonconsensual imagery.

Online platforms are now required by law to remove non-consensual intimate images within 48 hours of reporting, as a federal law criminalizing the sharing of such content goes into full effect Tuesday.

Good news! The Supreme Court ordered that mifepristone, a safe and effective abortion medication, could continue to be sent to patients by mail. My Office recently joined an amicus brief urging SCOTUS to maintain access to the medication. The fight isn’t over, but this is a win for reproductive rights.

A federal appeals court ruling against the Food and Drug Administration would have restricted access by mail to mifepristone.

Today I gave welcoming remarks at the first California Civil Rights Summit, bringing leaders and advocates across the state to advance civil rights and confront hate. We need summits like this more than ever. At a time when hate incidents continue to rise and civil rights are attacked at every turn, we need to reflect on the moment, figure out what we’re going to do, and recommit ourselves to the fight.

Thanks to , CA vs Hate, CA Commission on the State of Hate, and for hosting this important conversation.

Louisiana is attempting to impose a nationwide restriction on mifepristone, a safe, effective, and FDA‑approved medication used for abortion and miscarriage care. My Office joined an amicus brief in Louisiana v. FDA to urge the Supreme Court to block this attempt.

The Louisiana lawsuit, which seeks to block telehealth prescribing and mailing of the abortion pill mifepristone, has major implications for abortion access nationwide.
