Hidden Garden Steps

Hidden Garden Steps Community arts initiative that created mosaic tiled steps and a public garden at 16th Ave between Kirkham and Lawton Sts. in San Francisco, CA.

The Hidden Garden Steps is a dynamic community project in partnership with the San Francisco Parks Trust and the Department of Public Works Street Parks Program to create mosaic steps, a public garden, and a wall mural located on the 16th Avenue steps between Kirkham and Lawton St. Blog at http://hiddengardensteps.wordpress.com/

The project is inspired by the magnificent Moraga Mosaic Steps. Art

ists Colette Crutcher and Aileen Barr have created a lush mosaic design where butterflies flutter, salamanders slither, and Indian Paint Brush, and poppies climb flights of 148 stairs.

Friends and neighbors have you heard about the SF scale model made in late 1930's? Our Sunset portion is now at the Sunset Library! On display until March 25th. Image shows the Hidden Garden Steps as they appeared at that time. Or go look for your house! Very cool.
