SFPD Southern Station

SFPD Southern Station The Southern District incorporates the Ferry Building, extending south from Market Street to 16th Street and east to the Bay.

It includes that South of Market, Embarcadero, China Basin areas. The original home of Southern Station was located at 4th & Clara Streets. In 1926, Albert Coffey designed a building in an elaborate Spanish Baroque style to replace the shack that had been destroyed in the 1906 earthquake. In 1961, Southern Station relocated to the first floor of the Hall of Justice. In 2015, Southern Station moved

into the new Public Safety Building at 1251 3rd Street. Originally a mainly industrial area, the district has in recent years been the center of residential loft development, a nightlife destination, and the new home of the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Parks.
