In 1980, pursuant to Education Code 72330, the Governing Board of the San Francisco Community College District established the San Francisco Community College District Police Department. Under the Command of Chief Barnes over five Sergeants, thirty sworn Peace Officers and a dozen Campus Control Aides, the police department provides a complete range of Law Enforcement and Security Services for thi

s large, urban Community College District. With over 110,000 full time equivalent students at twelve campuses the men and women of the SFCCPD are usually quite busy with crime suppression efforts. Yet many other services are available for the college community.
