“There is a difference between what [Newsom] is trying to project as the resistance or the antidote to Trump and the modern agenda, versus what’s in his [proposed] state budget… It’s really scary to know that as I age…and my needs increase, my hours will not with it.”

Hand in Hand member Julia Feinberg spoke with Julia Metraux of Mother Jones to discuss the devastating impact IHSS cuts would have on her life and the millions of Californians who rely on it.

Read more, including insights from Hand in Hand’s California Director Lindsay Imai Hong, as she speaks to the harmful rhetoric and tactics of the federal government aimed at stamping out fraud — and instead leading to a loss of public programs for millions. Find it all via link in comments. ⬇️

The June 2 Primary Election is less than two weeks away, and this is a key time to build support for Prop D: The Overpaid CEO Act! The campaign is people-powered, and if we're going to pass this lifesaving revenue measure, we need your help!

If this measure passes, it would raise money for In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), and other social services that our communities depend on — all by taxing overpaid CEOs! Learn more at carenotgreed.org and sign up here to volunteer in the final days of the Prop D campaign: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfEZ75_Y_dccqL4lPU_aYda0CsntLNOodVmbIuEXENetxTbag/viewform

Image Description (ID) 1: A graphic that reads: On the Ballot June 2026. Prop C (with a red X next to it): decreases business taxes. Supported by billionaires and tech CEOs. If this proposition passes, we could lose $30-40 million per year! Prop D (with a green check next to it): Increases business taxes. Only impacts the biggest corporations in San Francisco! If this proposition passes, we could raise $250-300 million per year! Only one tax can pass! Do we raise more money for our city? Or let wealthy corporations evade more taxes? Big businesses should pay their fair share! Vote No on C and Yes on D.

ID 2: A graphic that reads: Important Dates. May 18 - last day to register to vote to get your ballot in the mail. May 26 - Deadline to mail your ballot in to get counted (1 week before Election Day). May 30 - Early voting sites open, vote in-person. June 2 - Election Day. Polls open from 7am to 8pm. Can drop off your ballot in person to a poll station until 8pm.
