Tesla will open a showroom in Mumbai, India, next week, marking the U.S. electric carmakers first official foray into the country.

As of May 2025, Tesla owns approximately 11,509 Bitcoins, valued at around $1.25 billion, thanks to a recent surge in Bitcoin’s price past $110,000.

This marks a significant recovery and increase from previous years, where Tesla had sold about 75% of its original holdings.

The valuation boost was further enabled by a new FASB accounting rule that allows companies to report digital assets at market value.

Tesla reportedly booked a $600 million profit from Bitcoin in Q4 2024 due to this change.

Tesla has not made new purchases or sales of Bitcoin in 2025 so far, but the value of its holdings has risen sharply due to favorable market conditions and increasing institutional adoption.
