Trauma Resolution and Resiliency Program

Trauma Resolution and Resiliency Program Based upon an understanding of the organic wisdom of the body, this program promotes education, compassion, self-awareness and social justice.

This program is one of several offerings by the Faithful Fools, a non-profit organization, located in the Tenderloin district of San Francisco. Originally started as the Body Soul Care Program by Cynthia Merchant it has been revitalized, re-inspired, and re-named. Through this program, Somatic Experiencing students and practitioners offer free individual sessions facilitating trauma resolution and

building inner resiliency. We also offer educational in-service workshops for local non-profits. These workshops provide a body-based understanding of trauma, address the effects of secondary trauma, and offer simple ways to help mitigate the effects of living and working in a stressful environment. As a program offered by the Faithful Fools, we are inspired by a ministry which "acknowledges each human's incredible worth. Aware of our judgments, we seek to meet people where they are through the Arts, Education, Advocacy, and Accompaniment. We participate in shattering myths about those living in poverty, seeing the light, courage, intelligence, strength, and creativity of the people we encounter. We discover on the streets our common humanity through which celebration, community, and healing occur."

But for most of us poor humans who don’t have a celestial vantage point, the Solstice isn’t just a moment. ...
