Larkin Street Youth Services Larkin Street Youth Services provides housing, medical, social, and educational service.

Since 1984, Larkin Street Youth Services has reached over 75,000 young people, ages 12 to 24, through a range of services including outreach, shelter, housing, health, wellness, education and employment. As the largest non-profit provider of services for young people experiencing homelessness in San Francisco, Larkin Street’s scope and impact is incomparable: three out of four young people who complete programs at Larkin Street leave street life behind.

We advocated, we organized, and it WORKED. The Michael Baxter Clinic, home to the Department of Public Health's Community Health Programs for Youth (CHPY), at 134 Golden Gate Ave. was set to close its doors at the end of August. Instead of letting that happen quietly, our community spoke up. Staff advocated. Clients advocated. And together, we kept this clinic open.

This clinic gives young people a trusted place to take charge of their health—access to basic care, STI testing, wound care, MediCal enrollment support, and connections to further care, all in a space built around them.

But the fight isn't over. Now we have to prove it's worth keeping. The more this clinic is used over the next two months, the stronger our case to advocate for it staying open long-term or even expanding its hours.

About the Clinic: This clinic is open to all youth ages 12–24. You do not need to be connected to Larkin Street to come in. No insurance, no appointment, no referral needed. Walk in for physical health, mental health, or just needing somewhere to start.

Would you pay more for cereal if you couldn’t tell the difference? We put name-brand and store-brand cereal to the taste test and asked Bay Area youth to choose their favorite without seeing the labels. The results didn’t always match the price tag—and that’s where it gets interesting.

That’s a wrap on PAN 2026: Golden Revolution 💫🎤

On August 21, Larkin Street youth artists took over American Conservatory Theater’s Strand Theater with original music, dance, drag, and spoken word. 10 weeks of creating, rehearsing, and collaborating, all leading to one unforgettable night.

And the night was golden before the curtain even rose: Live painting by Kweili Reddics. Live music by Anders Knut. And raffle winners took home the finished painting AND studio time with King $moove.

One attendee told us the Golden Revolution means “the remarkable ability to cherish golden moments.” We couldn’t agree more. THIS is what happens when young people own their narratives.

Some trips stay with you long after the water dries. 🌊🛶

For the fourth year running, Larkin Street staff and the youth we serve headed out together for a weekend of camping and raftin —and for a lot of young people, it was a trip of firsts. First time on a river, first time facing rapids, first time realizing they’re capable of way more than they thought.

One young person put it best: “This trip meant more to me than you could even know.” 💛

This fall, we’re handing them the mic. Think: the opportunities that changed everything, the adults who believed in them from day one, the doors that opened at exactly the right moment.

Happy ! Today's about celebrating the people and organizations doing the work—so what better day to finally, officially share our new look?

Our new identity is here! And at the center of it is an open door. It reflects the fearless courage every young person brings when they take that first step toward ending their homelessness, and a promise on our end: that door is always open.

We're so grateful to Turner Duckworth, who brought this to life entirely pro bono, sparked by our own board member, Joanne Chan, along with Wolfgang Zac and Claudia Delpin of Zacland Studios.
