The local Democratic party in San Francisco is officially
BOUGHT AND BOSSED by tech billionaire oligarchs and has lost all credibility as a liberal or progressive endorsement authority.

San Francisco Democratic party Chair Nancy Tung, whom recently ran a disastrous campaign as a carpetbagger candidate from Oakland, is maneuvering an unprecedented rule change to aide billionaires and opppse the tax on billionaires.

Nancy Tung recently raised eyebrows in an interview recently divulged that in order to be a leader in San Francisco there were a handful of powerful people whom potential candidates for elected office must have the blessing of these elitists if they want to have a coronation to prominence and power in San Francisco.
Nancy Tung counting herself as one of the kingmakers here in town after she could not mount a District Attorney campaign with any more than four volunteers.

San Francisco Democratic Party, in an unprecedented move, could break with state party to oppose the billionaire tax.

"All that Scott’s bills have accomplished are giveaways to land speculators and pandering to the libertarian fantasies of the tech crowd (including cult favorite carpetbagger Saikit and his crew of Charles Manson like nomad devotees), and the pockets of his billionaire tech bros. In 2017 and 2018 weiner passed a double whammy of SB35 to streamline approvals when cities didn’t meet the state-mandated housing production goals, then insidiously authored SB828 to triple those goals (with little relation to actual need), making sure that no city in the state would ever be able to achieve those goals. The result was to ensure “by-right” luxury housing approvals statewide, with no requirement to actually build the housing, and no funding for the affordable portion of the goals. In 2025 he passed SB79, a blanket upzoning affecting 3/4 of San Francisco, which raised height limits in many areas from the more affordable wood-frame construction to much more expensive concrete and steel construction, which ironically may result in slowing down housing production while jacking up land values. And just this year, he was a supporter of AB736, which would have done away with one of SF’s only direct sources of funding for affordable housing, the real estate transfer taxes on properties over $10 million dollars. Dustin Lee knew something was wrong when the apartment he shared with two roommates went quiet. He knocked on his roommate’s, Michael Hutchings, door with no answer. Lee called the authorities for a wellness check, who found Hutchings dead.

Lately, we have noticed a lot of fires happening in corporate landlord owned buildings. Why?

These fires point to the trend we see from corporate landlords of general disinvestment in the maintenance of the buildings, who see buildings as symbols of investments and capital more than homes of real people.

To prevent fires and stay protected, tenants should get their landlords to keep light wells clear and document any trash or debris anywhere it shouldn't be in their building.

Ro Khanna in 2028 and Connie Chan on November 3rd are the only Democrats garnering any new progressive enthusiasm locally.

Chan’s campaign hopes that Khanna, a progressive who is not in Pelosi’s orbit, will open up new possibilities.
