Last Friday SF Democratic Party Chair Nancy Tung was honored to participate in the first ever backpack giveaway at the San Francisco Islamic School organized as part of their back-to-school celebration for the coming school year.

The San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee’s Endorsements Committee and Issues and Resolutions Committee will hold a joint meeting on August 22nd, 2026 at 4:00 pm via Zoom to interview candidates for local elected office and ballot measure proponents and opponents for the November 3, 2026 Election.

It’s official! On September 10th at our annual Gala, we will honor David Chiu as a “Defender of Democracy.“

David Chiu has served on the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, as the Board President, in the State Assembly and as San Francisco’s City Attorney since 2021. He was the first Asian American to serve as Board President, represent Assembly District 17, and to be elected as City Attorney in San Francisco. As a legislator, he authored 185 state and local laws spanning housing, public safety, and civil rights.

As City Attorney, David has won hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of consumers and workers and is leading cities around the country in lawsuits protecting billions of dollars in federal funding from being illegally withheld by the federal government. Under David’s leadership, his office has brought sixteen lawsuits against the second Trump Administration, standing up for immigrants, education, the environment, health care, housing, the LGBTQ+ community, public safety, and transportation.
