They saw the need to promote the city after it was incorporated in 1913. Today's Women's Foundation was organized in 1936 as a support group for the San Gabriel Chamber of Commerce. The group has acted as official city hostesses for many years, sponsored civic improvement projects and work to coordinate the interests of the businesses and residential members of the community. The Women's Foundatio
n meets September through June on the third Thursday of each month at the adult recreation center, Padillo room, for a luncheon meeting and program from 11:30 to 1:30 PM. The Foundation is compromised of both working and non working woman and men, making it a constructive blend of service to the San Gabriel community. We extend an invitation to all in the community to join us and help in our efforts to make San Gabriel a better place to live, work and play.
