This October, AACI's sister agency, Next Door Solutions to Domestic Violence (NDS), is leading Co**has for Love in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM)!

Co**has for Love is an NDS-led community campaign in partnership with local bakeries, community organizations, and Santa Clara County Public Health’s We All Play a Role (WAPAR) Campaign. Together, they're using something as simple and meaningful as pan dulce to bring people together, spark conversations, and share information about domestic violence prevention and healthy relationships.

Through this campaign, NDS and community partners are working together to promote healthy relationships, respect, connection, and support while raising awareness about domestic violence prevention.

💜 Buy a Purple Co**ha for Love!
From October 15–30, 2026, participating bakeries will offer purple co**has as part of the campaign. When community members purchase a purple co**ha, they’ll also have an opportunity to learn more about healthy relationships, respect, connection, support, and available resources.

Participating Bakeries
📍 Panapolis - 792 E. Julian St., San Jose, CA 95112
📅 October 15–22, 2026
📍 Dulcinea - 795 S. Second St., San Jose, CA 95112
📅 October 23–30, 2026

How You Can Help
We invite you to help us spread the word by:
💜 Sharing Co**has for Love with your staff, clients, families, and community members.
💜 Sharing the campaign on your social media platforms.
💜 Encouraging community members to purchase a purple co**ha and learn more about healthy relationships and domestic violence prevention.
💜 Sharing campaign information and resources with anyone who may benefit from them.

This summer, the AACI advocacy department was proud to mentor Bradley, a Santa Clara University Public Health Sciences and Biology student, as a Valeriote-Goldman Fellow. He led interviews with elected officials and coalition leaders and helped coordinate a health fair that served more than 1,100 community members. 🤩

Advocacy at AACI means creating space for emerging leaders to learn, ask questions, and do the real work alongside us, because the people who will carry health equity forward need to see what policy looks like from the inside. Training the next generation of health care professionals and advocates is one of the most important investments we can make in the communities we serve. Thank you, Brad, for your hard work in service to our local community, and we wish you all the best in your senior year and beyond! 👏

💜October is DVAM (Domestic Violence Awareness Month).💜

💡This DVAM, our AWH program is finding ways for community members to get involved with supporting survivors and their children.

🏚️The AWH program serves survivors of domestic violence by providing safe, confidential shelter stays. But healing is not linear; sometimes, it's an expensive, life-long journey.

🛠️When it's time to move out, our survivors are still on the journey of healing and rebuilding their violence-free future. This is the part where you can get involved! 🫶🏼

🛒Shop our amazon wishlist to purchase homegoods like laundry supplies, bathroom essentials and ktichenware that help families get prepared to make their new safe space, feel like home. 🏡💞

This DVAM, you can give the gift of a Fresh Start. We appreciate your support!!
