We are facing a critical time – the high quality drinking water we currently get from the Sierra Nevada snowmelt is under threat on multiple fronts. Climate change is causing severe periods of drought, and a growing population continues to put pressure on ever decreasing water supplies. I am running for the Director, EBMUD Ward 7 open seat to protect our water for a healthy community and to champi
on viable solutions that will ensure equity in water quality for EBMUD’s customers. This is not an entry level position – the community deserves to have someone with elected experience be its advocate. I am a Councilmember and the only elected official in this race having proudly served as a public official for more than a decade. My priorities include: opposing the Bayside Groundwater Project and preserving our high-quality Sierra Nevada drinking water by reclaiming and recycling water for nonessential use, protecting Lake Chabot Reservoir and our shoreline from toxic blooms, and expanding access to watershed land for recreational while working to preserve critical wildlife habitat. Please join the California Democratic Party, Clean Water Action, Senator Bob Wieckowski, Assemblymember Mia Bonta, Mayor Pauline Cutter, Hon. Ellen Corbett, the Alameda and Contra Costa Labor Councils, and many other leaders, stakeholders, and community members in supporting me for Director, EBMUD Ward 7. Corina Lopez
