Meet Bita Ciriaco, EMT and Field Training Specialist Westmed!

For Bita, being a Field Training Specialist is about more than just the job. It’s about helping others grow while continuing to challenge herself. She believes teaching is one of the best ways to truly master your craft, and through training new EMTs, she’s grown both professionally and personally.

One of the most rewarding parts for her is watching new EMTs gain confidence. Her advice to new EMTs is simple. “Stay open to learning and be willing to learn, take feedback, and grow from experience. “

Thank you Bita for your commitment to excellence. Westmed is a better place with leaders like you! 👏🚑

Crew Excellence! 🚨

EMTs Hannah Gustlin and Katherine Anderson, and CCT RN Jasmine Van Winkle, demonstrated outstanding awareness and teamwork during a recent call at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

After wrapping up a CCT transport, they noticed a woman arriving in active labor. Without hesitation, they assisted her into a wheelchair and quickly brought her into the ED where the team helped her deliver a healthy baby in the hallway!

Awesome work Hanna, Katherine, and Jasmine ! 👏🚑

In honor of Women’s History Month, we’re proud to spotlight two incredible women joining our team. 🚑 Welcome to Westmed, Nurses Jada James and Jasmine VanWinkle! 💙

After earning her degree from Arkansas State, Jada built her foundation in high-acuity ICU settings before stepping into travel nursing, including heading to New York during the height of the pandemic as part of the early COVID emergency response. She brings experience and a level of compassion that truly shows in every patient interaction.

With 15 years of nursing experience, Jasmine has worked in ICU settings nationwide and most recently earned her MSN–Family Nurse Practitioner degree. She also serves as a Critical Care Nurse in the USAF Reserves. Beyond her clinical skills, she’s passionate about teaching and excited to work with EMTs to strengthen their skills.

We’re proud to have both of them on our team, bringing commitment to providing safe and excellent patient care at Westmed. 💪💙
