💙 Caring for others starts with caring for yourself.

Join MARU, Korean American Community Foundation of SF, and Korean American Community Services - Silicon Valley from the K-Coalition for a free webinar designed for the Korean American "sandwich generation"—those balancing the care of young children and aging parents.

Led by two MARU clinicians, this conversation will explore caregiver burnout, the importance of respite, and practical strategies to help you care for yourself while caring for those you love.

Together, we'll discuss navigating cultural, language, and financial challenges—and remind ourselves that rest is not a luxury, but an essential part of caregiving.

✨ Special thank you to Overseas Koreans Agency for making this webinar possible.

✨ World Refugee and Immigrant Day, held on June 13, brought together over 100 community members, children, and families across the Bay Area in celebration of Wellness and Joy.

Hosted by the East Bay Refugee and Immigrant Forum (EBRIF) and partners, the day honored the strength, resilience, and lived experiences of refugee and immigrant communities.

MARU was proud to table alongside community-based organizations, sharing resources and connecting with attendees throughout the event.

From performances and arts and crafts to a powerful community advocacy panel, the day was grounded in storytelling, healing, and collective hope. ❤️

🤝 At MARU's Belonging in America Open House and inaugural art exhibit, community members of all ages explored belonging through stewardship, collective creation, and the space between what is seen and what is held within.

Our Jikimee senior leaders—community protectors—are featured through artwork reflecting listening, protection, guidance, and care. Through symbols like the ear, umbrella, bridge, and bird, they remind us that belonging is not only something we seek, but something we help create for others.

The exhibit also includes a collective self-portrait workshop by staff and community members, where individual drawings come together to form something larger than any one person could create alone.

Alongside these works, youth mask pieces, as part of the IWAY HEART Program, explore identity, emotion, and the relationship between inner experience and outward expression.
