Hello there, I was wondering if anyone knew of a fundraiser or charity my company can participate/donate in. (San Leandro Area Only) thank you
Save the date San Leandro peeps! Please DM me if you have specific questions or accessibility needs so I can see what information organizers have put together. [Image text: Save the Dates. San Leandro Coalition for Racial Justice Summit. Virtual Event. This is a live, virtual event designed to build community relationships. It will not be recorded. Friday, July 31, 7:00-9:00 PM PST. Saturday, Aug 1, 9:30AM-1:00PM PST. What it is NOT... The Summit is not a teach-in, nor is it designed to create solutions for our city (work that the coalition can do better, together, once formed). It's not designed to replace existing community organizing groups, but to help coordinate and unit us around common strategies. It's not a forum for debating solutions or challenging fundamental group understands that Black lives matter, systems of White supremacy exists in San Leandro, and shifting public safety resources -- now dominated by policing -- into non-policing mechanisms of public safety and community health is important. What it is... A working meeting to launch a city-wide coalition of community groups and individuals around the imperative to end police violence against BIPOC, address White supremacy, and work for racial justice, public safety, and government accountability. It is a safe space to connect and collaborate. Who should attend: open to all individuals and activist groups committed to: 1. Launching a city-wide coalition and doing work to support that coalition, AND 2. Adhering to common principles, despite complex and multiple motivations behind participation, including: a. Requiring government and police accountability; b. Challenging systemic White supremacy and anti-Black racism and violence; c. Redefining public safety in San Leandro, including challenging an overreliance on policing; d. Addressing systemic deficiencies in health education, and wellness in San Leandro; e. Trusting we have the capacity to solve these problems among us; f. Believing in the power of collective action. Friday, July 31, 7:00-9:00PM PST. Saturday, Aug 1, 9:30AM-1:00PM PST. We're in this together. Save the dates; registration info to follow.]
