Great article on Alameda County's first Firehouse Clinic in Hayward by the California Health Care Foundation.

The California Health Care Foundation just posted this great story about Alameda County’s innovative new Firehouse Clinic in South Hayward. The clinic, located on the grounds of a brand new Hayward fire station, makes primary and preventive care services more accessible to residents – particularly the publicly insured or uninsured. The clinic also helps to integrate care among first responders and primary care providers. http://bit.ly/21pdx2S

"Slavery doesn't end. It just evolves."

Read a powerful interview with Equal Justice Initiative’s Bryan Stevenson about how America’s racial history continues to affect its justice system today.

Trailer: In The Red

Bay Area Youth EMT Program (BAY EMT) was recently awarded a grant from Kaiser Permanente, what was written by the Fund Development Office, in support of their life changing program. Here's a trailer for their upcoming documentary.

IN THE RED is a feature documentary about transformation, about growing up poor, young and black in America. What does it mean to change one’s life? How can someone’s history be left behind? Three young men have the opportunity to do both. Their lifeline to a new life, a new history, is an 18-week program in Oakland, California to train them to become firefighters. The film – raw, intimate and revealing – follows their lives for nearly two years.
