San Lorenzo Unified School District

San Lorenzo Unified School District News and events taking place across the San Lorenzo Unified School District. The School District is located on the southeastern shores of San Francisco Bay.

OUR HISTORY
The San Lorenzo School District is one of the oldest school systems in the State of California. Organized in 1859, the District has maintained a close and respected relationship with the San Lorenzo, San Leandro and Hayward communities. San Lorenzo consistently promotes excellence in education and service to the students and community. The District consists of nine elementary schools,

three middle schools and four high schools. The District’s high schools have eight Small Learning Communities (SLCs) to improve college and career readiness, and career themed pathways, Bay Area Digital Arts (BADA), East Bay Arts High School, Future Leaders for Social Change, Green Engineering and Technology (GET), Law, Language and Culture Academy, Tech Links, The Academy of Health and Medicine and Transportation, Engineering and Design Academy (TREND). THE COMMUNITY
San Lorenzo is an excellent area in which to participate in the wide variety of cultural, educational and recreational activities of Northern California. The weather is ideal, with mild winters and comfortable summer days, including cool evenings. The continuous sunshine and blue sky result in a wide variety of flowers and fruit trees which are in bloom a major portion of the year. San Francisco and the Pacific Ocean are within a half-hour commute; and the Lake Tahoe-Sierra summer recreational and winter ski areas are within an easy three-to-four hour drive. The Bay Area Rapid Transit system (BART) serves the community. Sailing, swimming, golf and related outdoor sports are enjoyed the year around. Stanford University, the University of California Berkeley, Santa Clara University, California State Universities—East Bay, San Jose and San Francisco—and excellent community colleges are located within an hour of the school district. In summary, San Lorenzo is a wonderful community in which to live, learn and work.
