This tiny bird carries a splash of golden yellow where you might least expect it.
The Yellow-rumped Honeyguide is a small African bird closely associated with bees and their nests. It feeds on wax, insects, and other food found around bee colonies, using its specialized diet to survive in environments where few birds can exploit the same resources. Like other honeyguides, it is also famous for its unusual breeding strategy, laying eggs in the nests of other birds and leaving its chicks to be raised by foster parents.
A fascinating specialist of the African forests, proving that survival sometimes depends on mastering a very unusual way of life.
