Friends of Cal Poly K9 Dex Dex is a 1.5-year-old dual-purpose police K9 trained in Patrol and Explosive Ordnance Detection (EOD). Full of energy and drive & cant wait yo meet you all.

He proudly serves with the Cal Poly Police Department and supports the City of San Luis Obispo. What is a Police Canine? A Police K-9 is an extremely versatile and valued member of the police department. It will greatly enhance public safety on the Cal Poly University Campus and provide a tremendous resource in areas of search and rescue, suspect apprehension, officer safety and public relations.

The purchase and training of these valuable police service dogs could not be accomplished without considerable financial support from individuals and businesses in the community. Please consider donating today!

What an incredible night! 🐕✨ Thank you to everyone who came out to our 9th Annual Evening with K9s—we truly appreciate your support.

K9 Dex was thrilled to meet so many friendly faces and soak up all the love!

We were excited to introduce our very first K9 competition demonstration this year, and it was a BIG hit! This is just the beginning—it’s officially here to stay.

Happy New Year!

2025 was truly a year to remember, marked by Cal Poly K9 Zeus’s well-earned retirement and the passing of the baton to K9 Dex. We are incredibly grateful to our Cal Poly K9 supporters and friends—your continued support means everything to us, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without you.
