We're holding a Phone Bank in support of CalCare tonight, at 4pm at Two Broads Cider in SLO!

As Americans, we pay more than any other comparable OECD nation for healthcare and yet we have some of the worst outcomes. Premiums keep rising, care is harder to access, and with federal funds being pulled by the Trump Administration, it's clear we need a new vision for care.

Join our Healthcare Committee as we fight to transform our current broken and costly healthcare system into a better, cheaper, single-payer system!

Join DSA SLO for our February General Meeting on 2/22 at 4pm, then come attend the 7pm showing of “All That’s Left For You,” a documentary film that follows a Palestinian family across three generations amidst genocide in Palestine. Let’s show our Central Coast community that Palestinian stories are valued and needed, especially with the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Even if this show at The Palm Theater sells out, show up for your support of these stories.

Keep an eye out for a post announcing our General Meeting!

Event description:
"This year, our immigrant Farm Working families have been heavily impacted by the current administration. Life has become even more challenging in different aspects that are affecting their daily life. Many are finding it hard to make ends meet and with the start of school, we asked ourselves, what can we do to uplift them? How can we support farmworker families, who during COVID were deemed–essential?

This is why, at Mixteco Indígena Community Organizing Project (MICOP), we are coming together to host a Back-to-School event, September 7th, at the San Miguel Park from 9:00 am- 12:00 pm and we need your support. Our goal is to distribute backpacks for students, but we know these are extremely difficult times. So, apart from the backpack distribution, we would like to ease the financial burden by providing necessary items for Back-to-school.

If you would like to support this cause, please reach out to us or come directly to our office. We are more than happy to receive any donations from 9AM-6PM, Monday through Friday. If this time doesn't work, we can also arrange a pick up time before September 5th. We are hoping to receive these items by September 5th.

Contact Mixteco Indigena Community Organizing Project office if needed and arrange a pickup time."

⭐Donations are also accepted now thru the 5th at their office from 9am-6pm on weekdays
