Today, SLO County APCD staff were out in the field conducting site visits for an exciting electric vehicle infrastructure project that will bring DC Fast Chargers to several locations across San Luis Obispo County.

This first-of-its-kind regional effort is designed to improve EV accessibility. Making it easier than ever to charge up while exploring, commuting, or doing business throughout the county.

The project combines funding and collaboration from multiple local agencies and partners to create a network of reliable, low-cost charging options that support cleaner transportation choices and help reduce emissions in our communities.

We're excited to see this project moving forward and look forward to sharing more updates as these charging stations come online.

🚨 We are entering peak wildfire season & we want you to be ready for smoke impacts across California! Wildfire smoke contains tiny particles that can travel far and harm your lungs and heart - especially for kids, seniors, pregnant women, and those with health conditions.

Here’s how to protect yourself:
✅ Check local air quality daily – bookmark your air district’s site or visit fire.airnow.gov
✅ Sign up for alerts – get real-time updates by text or email
✅ Stay indoors when it’s smoky
✅ Create a Clean Air Room – use a HEPA filter or DIY version to reduce smoke particles by 90%
✅ Seal up leaks – weatherproof windows and doors
✅ Avoid indoor smoke – skip candles, fireplaces, incense, and smoking
