We have updated and changed the RSVP deadline for the Upward Bound 2021 Summer Banquet. It will now be JULY 9TH Friday, instead of the 2nd!

We are so excited to announce that we will be hosting a summer college trip in the DFW area!

When: August 2, 2021 – August 4, 2021

Where: We will be visiting Baylor University, University of Texas at Dallas, University of Texas at Arlington, Texas Women’s University, University of North Texas, and attending a game at Ranger’s Stadium.

Who: All Upward Bound students are invited! Including class of 2021. Underclassmen will take priority in the total number of students we bring. Attendance and participation during the academic year and the summer program will be considered for eligibility!

Why: We are officially back in person on the campuses beginning in August. All services will return to normal (After School Tutoring, Academic Saturdays, Parent Meetings, etc.), and this will be our kickoff trip for an exciting year ahead!

What: Bring enough clothes, shoes, and hygiene essentials to cover a three day trip. You can also bring money for the giftshops if you would like! All food, tickets, hotel, and travel will be covered by Upward Bound.

RSVP: Parents, please only allow your student to RSVP once they have spoken to you and are certain they are able to attend. There are a lot of logistics that go into planning hotel, busses, reservations, etc. and we need to make sure we have an accurate number of attendees. If you are unsure if you will be able to attend, please refrain from RSVP’ing until it has been confirmed. You have until next Friday, July 2nd at 12PM to complete the RSVP.

Hello all! as the Upward Bound summer program approaches we here have collaborated with our long-time colleague Dr. Travis in the curation of an annual music-driven camp. This year will be the start of our first "Music World Tour"! What this means is we will be working with students, exposing them to the vast and expansive genres of music that exist and are embedded in cultures all over the world. Taking a more international approach, while simultaneously teaching students about the social and political climates that exist within these nations through said music. Also how the realities of individuals influence the expression, curation, and cultures of music! From the UK Grime scene lead by artists such as Skepta & Giggs all the way to South America's Reggaeton movement spearheaded by artists like J Balvin & Daddy Yankee. Strap in and join us as we travel the world on sound!

The first day of class will be June 14th and run untill July 23rd
Tuesdays from 10:00am to 3:00pm.
(Travel and Food will be covered!)
