WEATHER UPDATE: Extreme Shelter for those who need it located at Southside Community Center San Marcos starting 8pm today, Tuesday May 19th. See post for details. *Edit: ADDRESS: Southside Community Center, 518 S Guadalupe St, San Marcos, TX

Due to forecasted wind and hail storms tonight, Southside will open our extreme shelter. All in need of shelter, including pets, are welcome. Simply arrive between 8-10 pm and we will walk you through the procedures.

Flood Ready Fest 2026 was a success! Thanks to Roughhouse Brewing for hosting us, and to all the great organizations and speakers that came out to inform our community on flood safety!

❤️Thank you to our volunteers as well, we couldn't have done this without you!
❤️We are so grateful to those who donated toward our organization.
We had informative talks from San Marcos River Foundation director Virginia Parker and Will Baumann from Hays County Office of Emergency Services on Saturday telling folks how they can take preventative measures at home, and what to do during flood events.
