This institution has come a long way since 1899 when it began as a teachers college. Texas State is currently the 5th largest public institution with over 34,000 students. Within the past year our university has made numerous advancem

ents such as being awarded Emerging Research status, becoming a Hispanic Serving Institution, and transitioning to the WAC. Now is the time for Texas State to really emerge as a top university in the nation. We Believe in Texas State, we believe in Texas State students, and we believe that we are the best candidates to move Texas State forward.
