🏀🥎 BIG SPORTS NIGHT IN CENTRAL TEXAS 🥎🏀

Tonight, all eyes are on Texas.

The San Antonio Spurs begin their NBA Finals run against the New York Knicks in Game 1, while the Texas Longhorns Softball take the field in the Women’s College World Series Championship Series against the Texas Tech Red Raiders Softball. The Spurs are hosting NBA Finals Game 1 tonight, and Texas Softball is competing for another national championship in Oklahoma City. 

From San Antonio to Austin and across Central Texas, we’re proud to support the athletes representing our communities on some of the biggest stages in sports.

🚑 Medic 24 is Now ESD 9 EMS! 🚑

Monday marked another important milestone as Medic 24 officially transitions to Hays County ESD 9 EMS service in Kyle.

Since launching operations on April 1, our team has been focused on building a people-first EMS system dedicated to clinical excellence, compassion, and accountability. The addition of Medic 24 further strengthens our ability to serve the residents of Kyle, Uhland, Niederwald, and the surrounding communities with high-quality emergency medical care.

This transition represents more than placing another ambulance in service—it reflects the dedication of our crews, support staff, community partners, and district leadership who have worked tirelessly to build this organization from the ground up.

As Medic 24 begins serving our community under the ESD 9 banner, we remain committed to our mission of delivering exceptional patient care, supporting our personnel, and building lasting relationships throughout the communities we serve.

Medic 24 is in service and ready to answer the call.

FYI Hays County!!

NO ACTIVE ATTACK IN BUDA

Earlier this evening, deputies participated in a pre-planned, scenario based training exercise involving a mock active attack situation. The training was conducted at a simulated setting well outside of Buda but referred to as "Maverick's Dance Hall."

We are aware that radio traffic associated with this training was picked up by a scanner and has prompted social media posts suggesting an actual active attack occurred in Buda. There is no such threat. The public is not in danger.

Today, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten. As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, we reflect on the freedoms we enjoy because of those who gave everything in defense of others.

At Hays County ESD 9 EMS, we stand in gratitude beside the families, friends, and fellow service members who carry their memory forward each day.
