There's still time to nominate an outstanding San Marcos women for the 2026 Women's Hall of Fame! The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, August 14 at 4 p.m.

The nomination form is available online at sanmarcostx.gov/fame. Paper nominations are also available at the Parks and Recreations Office, 401 E. Hopkins Street.

Nominations for the 2026 Women's Hall of Fame are now open!

We’re looking for outstanding local women to honor during the annual induction ceremony in October.

Criteria for selection include:
• Volunteerism in multiple areas of service
• Meeting the needs of the community Demonstration of community initiative
• Influencing positive change and going beyond the call of duty

The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, Aug. 14 at 4 p.m. The nomination form is available online at sanmarcostx.gov/fame.

Bobcat season is BACK! 😎🐾

Move-in weekend is happening August 14-16! Expect heavier traffic throughout the weekend, especially around Thorpe Ln., Hopkins St. and Aquarena Springs Dr.

Give yourself a little extra time and keep an eye out for new and returning Bobcats making their way home!

We love a Participatory Budgeting yap sesh!

Together, you submitted 103 ideas, shared 140 project concepts, and cast 117 valid votes to help shape our community!

The final Participatory Budgeting priorities include:

- Improved crosswalks in high pedestrian areas downtown

- New bus shelters at busy stops with full
shelter

- Safety curb cut improvements

- New bus shelters at busy stops with compact seating

- River view bench initiative

Beginning next week, our Public Works team will be inspecting, testing, and repairing traffic control device around all area schools.

⚠️ On August 4, expect to see the flashing school zone lights on in the morning and afternoon as crews test them.
