Mrs. Schmidt’s class got a fun “Future Ready” parent presentation. Dr. Scott, a dentist, gave the kids some trivia about teeth and a colorful brushing lesson. We are thankful for parents coming in to teach our kids important life skills!

Through Skype a Scientist, some 5th graders joined a live Zoom session with hummingbird researcher Dr. Alyssa J. Sargent to learn about her fascinating work studying hummingbirds. Students read about her research, took notes, asked thoughtful questions, and discovered how scientists collect information about these tiny but mighty birds—including the use of miniature “backpacks”! 🎒

What an incredible opportunity to connect classroom learning with the work of a real scientist! Thank you, Dr. Sargent, for sharing your knowledge and inspiring our curious learners! 💚✨
