Bus Applications for 25/26SY

Good afternoon,

As we prepare to enter the testing season and the close of the 24/25 school year, it’s already time to think about planning for the next school year. We are writing to share information about bus transportation for the 25/26 school year.

We have experienced success with our school bus transportation services and I am excited to share that we will be offering bus services for the 25/26 school year. We are finalizing the process to ensure equity. We anticipate having more families interested in bus transportation than we have seats available. While current bus riders will have priority for the 25/26 school year, we will have a few additional spaces for more riders.

It is important that we are clear and transparent about the process for requesting and securing a seat on the bus for the 25/26 school year. Over the next few weeks we will be confirming with current riders if they plan on using the bus again. We will then group applicants by distance from our former campus and run a blind lottery from these groups for the remaining spaces.

Applications will be sent out by 3/17

We will be prioritizing students who:

Current bus riders for the 24/25 school year.

Current bus riders WILL NEED TO REAPPLY

Live within 1 mile of 4301 Berk Ave., Richmond and can provide proof of residency (utility bill such as a PG&E bill) with the parent or guardian name(s).

Students who can ride to and from school. Bus services can not be in conjunction with the After School Program.

Students who qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch (in the 24/25 school year) will be prioritized.

With the holiday season quickly approaching, we wanted to reach out and remind you to sign up for our volunteer system as soon as possible. Volunteering at our school events and activities is crucial to our students’ success, and we greatly appreciate all the time and effort our community puts in.

Hello CBA community!
We will be holding our annual Fall Parade on 10/31! We will start the parade at 11:45 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. Students will be dismissed from 12:20 to 12:30 p.m.

Parade Logistics
If you’d like to come in person and watch the parade:
Street parking only
- Do not block neighbor or Caliber driveways
- Do not park in the opposite side of the street, park correctly
- No parking on the campus parking lot, we need all the space
- Stay in assigned viewing spots
- Dismissal will start at 12:20 p.m.
- Car entrance gate will be closed until 12:20 p.m. (no exceptions)
- If you would like to come in to campus / the classroom, you will need to be approved to do so (contact your child’s teacher before 10/30)
If you cannot make it, we will be streaming the event on zoom (no noise):

No pets allowed, service animals only.

Costumes:
- Students can arrive in their costumes but their costumes cannot have masks, pretend blood or weapons (items will be asked to be put away and cannot be used during the parade, no exceptions)
- Staff will not be able to help put on or take off costumes.
- Students can bring candy but it won’t be eaten on campus. - - -- Absolutely NO CANDY after 10/31.
- If a child is not in costume, they need to be in uniform
- Absences will not be excused for students who do not attend school as non-Halloween events will be an option for those who do not celebrate

We will host students that do not participate in Mr. V’s and Ms. S’s classrooms starting at 11:30 a.m. If you do not want your child to participate in the fall parade, please notify your child’s homeroom teacher by 10/30.
