St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marin County

St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marin County We believe that everyone needs food, shelter, dignity and a chance for a better life – no one can do it alone.

Our goal is to provide compassionate care and critical services to residents of Marin County who are struggling to make ends meet. Our trained volunteers meet with individuals and/or families in order to develop a trusting relationship and to ascertain how they can best be served. The assistance we provide may take the form of direct aid, intervention, advocacy or moral support. This "neighbor hel

ping neighbor" model holds "respect" as our dearest attribute: we respect those we serve for their many experiences, their struggles, their talents and their humanity.

The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marin is proud to announce that we have been awarded a $3 million grant from the newly launched Marin Senior Life Foundation to prevent senior homelessness in Marin County.

Over the next five years, we will create a countywide pilot program to keep precariously housed older adults from becoming homeless.

In our Annual Report, we share the story of Julia, a lifelong Marin resident who we kept safely housed with our senior shallow rent subsidy program. With this grant, we are able to extend this same lifeline to more older adults like Julia.

Together, we will help restore the hope and stability that every older adult needs.

We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to Westamerica Bank for their generous and continued support of our Free Dining Room!

Each year, our free dining room serves more than 200,000 meals to our neighbors in need. Our low-income community members depend on us for a guaranteed, healthy meal.

We are truly grateful for our partnership with Westamerica. Through their gifts and volunteerism, they are supporters of St. Vincent de Paul. Special thanks to Carolyn Hoffman and Stacie Robbins for their unwavering dedication to SVdP.

Thank you, Westamerica Bank, you are helping us ensure no one in Marin goes to bed hungry.

This past Saturday, a group of our wonderful benefactors and friends joined us for an incredible paella party. Guests enjoyed an unforgettable culinary experience donated by Deb Keith and her amazing staff at Kitchen Cafe & Catering.

This special evening was an auction item offered at SVdP's 2025 Pennies from Heaven Gala. A heartfelt thank you to benefactor Frankie Gray for hosting us at her beautiful estate. We know all who attended had a wonderful time mingling with old friends and making new connections all while enjoying delicious paella!

Overall, the event raised more than $10,000. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us. It was a truly memorable evening! Thank you!

As inflation drives up the cost of living, more older adults in Marin County are experiencing homelessness for the first time at an alarming rate. We are committed to reversing this trend, and we know that you want to reverse it, too.

Each May, we recognize Older Americans Month, a time to honor our community's teachers, our service workers, our mothers and fathers, and our volunteers.

With your support, St. Vincent de Paul can help older adults stay safely in their homes while we pursue more stable, affordable housing solutions.

Thank you for making this possible.

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We are taking this time to reflect on their courage and the freedoms they fought to protect.

Today, we celebrate service, sacrifice, and selflessness. At St. Vincent de Paul, we are humbled to support vulnerable Veterans, just as they once stood in service to us all. May their bravery inspire us to live with gratitude and purpose.

To the brave men and women who gave their lives protecting our freedom, we thank you. We proudly remember you.

Mental Health Awareness Month is a reminder that caring for both body and mind is essential to overall well‑being. Strong mental health supports individuals, families, and entire communities.

At St. Vincent de Paul, we are committed to helping our clients find effective, long‑term solutions for mental health challenges. Our case managers build consistent, trusting relationships with clients, especially those experiencing chronic homelessness, because ongoing support leads to higher success rates and more stable, fulfilling lives.

Their compassion, and our belief that no one is left behind, drives us to keep advocating for those facing mental health struggles and for anyone who needs a hand‑up.

Thank you for helping us bring hope to our community.

We are excited to share the activation of a new solar and battery storage system that will power our critical needs during outages and emergencies. With the system, St. Vincent de Paul can provide reliable backup power, reinforcing our ability to prepare, respond, and recover from disruptions for those most in need.

This was an incredible donation made possible by Marin Community Foundation, Marin Clean Energy, and GRID Alternatives. We are beyond grateful for these partnerships in our community.

The battery storage system will allow SVdP to save on energy costs and give the money we saved back to our Marin community.

Thank you, MCF and MCE for your partnership!
