Death Medicine returns!

We are honored and excited to be bringing this beautiful gathering to an extra special venue in Santa Rosa, California.

is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that serves and supports our local community in wonderful ways. You can feel the love and belief that they have for local artists and creative folks. The new space that they have curated is right up our alley. Intimate, good vibes, and a place that a person can feel welcome to be their true self.

If you feel the call or are curious to learn more about what Death Medicine can be for you, please join us. It’s a safe space to bare your heart and soul on the topics of death and grief. Expressions of all kinds are welcome. Truly, anything goes!

This is a unique opportunity to witness truly awe inspiring shares from all walks of life. Song, poetry, instrumentals, storytelling, miscellaneous musings and thoughts, and more. Heck, we’ve even had a thoughtful comedy routine about dementia.

Something to know: anyone who attends is not required to get on stage. Being a witness to what unfolds is equally as important and deeply meaningful.

If you are grieving and simply need a hug, we have a big one for you.

Come receive the gift of this gathering. We host these twice a month in Sonoma and Marin counties, so you have plenty of opportunities to join.

Join us as we usher in the season of spring with Death Medicine #10!

It’s always a good time to release and rejuvenate. Yet when buds and blossoms are blooming, it sparks a surge of encouraging it to happen even more.

Perhaps you’ve held onto a certain grief for too long or perhaps you’ve just started a grieving journey. This grief can be for anything, not just the loss of a person.
Death Medicine is a gathering that will allow and invite you to share what you’re going through. Anything goes (with respect towards the other attendees).

Come shed what’s been hiding deep inside. Lighten your load. Express yourself however you want. Storytelling, random thoughts and musing, song, through an instrument, dance, poetry, artwork, etc.

We hope that those who attend our event feel held, seen, and witnessed. Even if you don’t get on stage.

It is a beautiful and miraculous thing, to witness someone get on stage and admit how uncomfortable they are. This is when the magic happens. We are here for it!

We invite all walks of life to join us. These gatherings are full of vulnerability, personal expression, deeply felt emotions, and most of all, a huge amount of love.

The daffodils are blooming, rain drops are falling, and we can feel the shifting season. As the weather patterns are ever changing, so are our individual walks with grief. Solitude on this sacred walk is sometimes crucial. Yet at some point grief needs a hand held, a hug, a listening ear, a witness.

This is Death Medicine #10! The first event was in August 2025 and the journey has been miraculous as of yet.

The Luminous Threshold Collective is learning and growing. Those who have been with us from the start offering support and encouragement, we thank you. Those who have just recently discovered us and given us love-filled feedback, we thank you. And to those who have yet to cross our path but are meant to find us, we thank you.

You’re all invited to Death Medicine: An Open Mic Community Exploration of Death and Grief. Thursday, February 26th, 2026. 7pm-9:30pm. $15 entry, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Our Death Medicine events have been so deeply moving, inspiring, and meaningful. The shares come from the heart and remind us what we’re capable of.

Weh has reminded us that we can share outside of the Death Medicine space. We should absolutely be offering vulnerable shares every chance we get.

It’s happening! Death Medicine: An Open Mic Community Exploration of Death & Grief #8!

Folks in Sonoma County and beyond, we invite you to an extra special gathering. This one will be held at the lovely .st.theater in downtown Sebastopol, California. Friday, February 13th. Doors open at 7pm, we begin at 7:30pm. $15 entry (this donation allows us to host these gatherings).

The last Death Medicine we hosted in Sebastopol was full of something that isn’t always associated with death and grief. Laughter! It was a true joy to witness humor being shared onstage and the crowd chuckling. Laughing out loud is beautiful medicine.

In addition to the laughter, tears were shed. This is good! We all need to release tears sometimes.

Please know that if (when) you attend any of our events, tears are most welcome. You can even get on stage and simply cry for 5 minutes straight. We will hold space for you.

We always look forward to these gatherings and we hope some of you do, too. ✨

And another Death Medicine comes to Sebastopol! Join us on Friday, January 16th back at the Main Street Theater.

Our first event in Sebastopol had many beautiful, vulnerable shares. We invite you to fill the sweet space that is the Main Street Theater and take in the medicine of this gathering.

The next Death Medicine at The Belrose in San Rafael, California will be Thursday, January 29th!

Join us again for what will be the 2nd Death Medicine in 2026. (Link in bio for more information and/or tickets).

Did you know that we host this special event at two separate venues per month? As one part of the Luminous Threshold Collective lives in Marin County and two of us live in Sonoma County, we wanted to bring this unique event to both areas. You have two options each month to attend! How exciting is that?!

We are so grateful to the venues who have welcomed us with open arms and have a likeminded vision of bringing community together.

As the year ends, we would like to extend our wishes for deep reflection and peace during this time. 2025 has been full of an array of emotions, growth, and connection. We leave this year behind, more excited than ever to be moving forward on this path of sacred death work.

Our next step forward as a Collective is to create a website. We are seeking help with building one for the Luminous Threshold Collective. Tips, a volunteer website developer, personal recommendations, financial assistance, feedback. Anything would be helpful as this is all new to us. We are hoping for help from someone well versed in this world of website creation.

Our website will have more in depth information on who we are individually and collectively, why we do what we do, what we offer, how we operate, knowledge to share, and updates on our events and collaborations.

We want others to get to know us. On a more personal, deeper level. And we want to know you! We’ve received some positive feedback and also some constructive criticism. We welcome all of it! And we appreciate patience from those who are following our journey while we figure it all out.

Greetings all who are interested in Death Medicine!

This event was created with each of you in mind. (Yes, YOU)! To offer you an opportunity to share from your heart, take the medicine in, and gather with your community. The space is one full of love, deep emotions, vulnerability, connection, and hope.

We hope more of these types of gatherings are formed and can spread far and wide. Throughout the world! The benefits are great and truly can feel like medicine for the heart and soul.

Our society needs more togetherness when it comes to the challenges, sensitivity, heartbreak, pain, sadness, anger, and so on that can come with death and grief. This is just one opportunity for this. Think of the ripple effect of having more chances like this. What a world it could be!

Thank you for your interest in joining us. We are grateful for you and we can't wait to meet you.

Ticket giveaway alert! 😁

As our next Death Medicine open mic event is coming up this Thursday, December 18th, we are excited to bring people together again to create a special space.

Flyers have been shared, invitations are going out, and we hope to spread the word to the folks in Sonoma County. We are sensing a growth in end of life support and services in our community. This is very exciting! Connections are being made every day and it’s filling us with joy.
