Attended the End-of-Year Open House at San Rafael High School as they celebrated our students’ hard work and showcased the incredible tiny house project they’d helped build this year.

This hands-on student construction project provide important pathways into the skilled trades. The 8-by-20-foot homes — on display Thursday as the project wrapped up for the year — are part of an effort coordinated by Big Skills, Tiny Homes, a group launched in 2019 by San Anselmo resident Sean Ticknor.

Special thanks to San Rafael High School Building and Construction Trades Class and SR Teacher Kevin McSorley for the invite & Sean for tour. Congrats!

Visiting a school site is probably one of the most rewarding parts of being a school board trustee. I got to represent our San Rafael City Schools by attending the Coleman Elementary School Open House last night.

Wow… the students literally created the California History Museum inside their classroom. Their models were amazing!!
