Your San Simon wildland crew just left for a fire assignment in Florida. I told them gator wrasslin' injuries aren't covered by workman's comp.

Good morning everyone. The San Simon Spring bash is today at the school. There'll be an Easter egg hunt for the kiddos starting at 0900. The chili cookoff judging starts at 1100. There'll also be old cars and tractors. My 1947 John Deere model A tractor will be there along with a surprise implement. You'll have to stop by to see what it is.

Lastly, the boys varsity basketball team has a home game this afternoon. I believe the first pitch is at 1545 hours (3:45 pm).

There will be other things that I haven't listed going on as well.

This is our first annual Spring Bash so if you have ideas on how to make next year's event better, we'd love to hear them.

This year the Spring Bash's proceeds will benefit the San Simon Fire Auxiliary.

The San Simon Fire District is conducting its annual wildland refresher training today. Stations include the work capacity pack test, a classroom portion, hand tool use and maintenance, deploying a practice shelter.

This is a required annual event for all wildland firefighters nationwide.

Your San Simon Fire District gave our girls varsity basketball team an es**rt out of town. They are on their way to Scottsdale for their second state championship game of the year.

Since the fire district heavily supports the athletic program at our high school, we added livery to our fire engine showing just that.

Go Longhorns, and the best of luck to our Lady Longhorns today!
