🚒 A MESSAGE TO OUR COMMUNITY FROM SANBORN FIRE COMPANY 🚒
At Sanborn Fire Company, our mission goes beyond responding to emergencies. We strive every day to support our community and surrounding areas, provide valuable services to those we serve, and ensure we are doing right by the public that places its trust in us.
One of the ways we accomplish this is through fundraising. We work hard to raise the funds necessary to support our organization, maintain our capabilities, and continue providing services to our communities, rather than placing an additional financial burden on our local townships or relying solely on outside funding.
But our fundraisers are about more than just raising money. They are an opportunity to bring people together, engage with our community, raise awareness about what we do, and showcase the services our organization provides.
Take our Sportsman Raffle, for example. Where else can you spend just $10 for a ticket, enjoy an evening of food, refreshments, and entertainment, and have the opportunity to win prizes throughout the night with a combined value of over $30,000? Our goal is to provide enjoyable, affordable events where people can come together, have a great time, and support their local volunteer fire company in the process.
What many people may not realize is the amount of time, effort, planning, and preparation that goes into making these events happen. From organizing prizes and securing donations to coordinating logistics and managing the event itself, there are countless hours of work contributed behind the scenes by volunteers who give their own time to make these events possible.
Are we perfect? No. Do things occasionally go wrong or could some things be handled differently? Absolutely. We are human, and like any organization, we face challenges along the way. What matters is that we learn from those experiences, make adjustments where needed, and continue moving forward with the goal of doing better.
Constructive feedback is always welcome, and we recognize that everyone may have a different perspective on how things should be done. However, it can be discouraging when the time, effort, and dedication of volunteers are met with criticism rather than an appreciation for the work being done. We are not asking for a free pass or suggesting that we cannot improve. We simply ask that people recognize the effort behind the scenes and understand that there are often circumstances and considerations they may not see.

Sanborn Fire Company is always looking for individuals who are willing to contribute their time, knowledge, skills, and experience. Whether you have firefighting experience, business or organizational skills, technical knowledge, or simply a desire to help your community, there is value in getting involved.
We encourage you to consider joining Sanborn Fire Company or reaching out to your own local volunteer fire company. These organizations depend on people willing to step forward, lend a hand, and make a difference.
At the end of the day, we are your neighbors, friends, and fellow community members. We volunteer because we care about the people we serve and the communities we call home.
