PUBLIC HEARING REMINDER

Tomorrow night’s Selectboard meeting will include a Public Hearing beginning at 5:30pm at Old Town Hall regarding the Transfer Station hours. The Selectboard has determined three options the public can provide comments on at the hearing:

Option A (current hours): Tuesday & Friday 8am-6pm, Saturday 8am-2pm

Option B (proposed by a petitioner): Tuesday 7am-12pm, Friday & Saturday 7am-5pm

Option C: Tuesday 8am-3pm, Friday 8am-6pm, Saturday 8am-5pm

If you can’t make it to the meeting, please email any comments to [email protected] for distribution to the Board.

The Sanbornton Zoning Board of Adjustment (ZBA) is seeking new members and alternate members.

The ZBA serves as a relief mechanism for property owners. After being denied a permit due to not being able to meet the requirements of the Zoning Ordinance (the proposed use is not permitted, the building will be closer to a boundary line than allowed, etc.), an applicant can apply for a variance and present their case to the ZBA for possible approval.

Meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of the month and only if applications have been received - this month will be the first time since January that the ZBA has met, so it's not a meeting-heavy commitment.

This will be the last session to register to vote prior to the September Primary Election. New voter registrations will be accepted as well as any other changes to existing voters. You may also register to vote at the polling place, located at Old Town Hall, on September 8, 2026.

Per vote at the election in March 2026 by the residents of Sanbornton, staying in an RV temporarily up to 120 consecutive days is allowed, though a permit is required. Stays of 14 days or fewer are exempt.

Check out page 4.5 of the Zoning Ordinance for more information, found on the Zoning Enforcement section of the website. The permit application can be found there as well, under Building & Other Permits/Forms.

A representative from Avitar is visiting properties this week and next as part of their regular data verification process (i.e., making sure the measurements/data/items on your tax card are correct). This makes for a much more efficient Town-wide revaluation in 2028.

If you are on the list to be visited then you received a letter a few months back with the option to have the assessment done from the road.

Thank you to the resident who brought in a few arm loads worth of food for Sanbornton’s own Got Lunch program!

If you’d like to help feed local kids who don’t have the benefit of school lunch this summer, simply pick up a couple extra cans of food next time you’re at Market Bucket and drop off at the Town Office. Highly requested items include:

Solid white tuna in water - 5 oz
Canned chicken in water - 10 oz
Jelly (any flavor) - 18 oz
Creamy peanut butter - 16-18 oz
Mayonnaise - 30 oz

Taxes are due today, Tuesday, July 7th.

You’d be crazy to not want to see our smiling faces, but if you can’t make it to the Town Clerk’s office, the online payment kiosk is available. Electronic checks are only $.95 to process!
