At last night’s Board of Trustees meeting, Officer Travis Nix was recognized for outstanding service and dedication during the recent search that led to the successful rescue of a missing Sandoval resident.

Officer Nix played an important role in the coordinated effort involving local law enforcement, fire personnel, emergency responders, and volunteers who worked tirelessly to bring this situation to a safe outcome.

The Village of Sandoval extends its appreciation for the professionalism, commitment, and teamwork demonstrated throughout this operation. Thank you, Officer Nix, for your service to our community.

The Village of Sandoval is currently seeking summer help!

This is a great opportunity for a high school student interested in learning public works duties and gaining valuable hands-on experience. Tasks may include general maintenance, outdoor work, and assisting with daily village operations.

**SHARED FROM SANDOVAL PTO PAGE**

As part of our commitment to promoting responsible decision-making and ensuring the safety of our students we will be displaying a mock crash scene this Friday afternoon, April 17, 2026 at 1:00 pm and holding an assembly for Sandoval, Patoka, & Odin high school students. This event is held every other year.
*The mock crash will use real crashed vehicles and volunteer participants to act out roles of crash victims. The purpose of this simulation is to send a message to students about the importance of using good judgment before getting behind the wheel of an automobile and will also show how emergency responders conduct rescue efforts in real time. This will also serve as credited training for our local Fire Dept., EMS & First Responders.
🚩There will be live sirens, firetrucks, ambulances, and a helicopter(s) present. (*The helicopter(s)will depend on the weather and real-time emergency calls).
🚩In the days following, there will be somewhat graphic pictures and/or videos of the mock scene, the arrest, the rescue, and the mock funeral that will be posted.
