As National EMS Week is celebrated May 17–23, 2026, Sandown Fire Rescue recognizes our EMTs and who provide emergency medical care to our residents and visitors every day.

Our members are often there during some of life’s most critical moments, responding to medical emergencies, serious injuries, public safety incidents, and providing care and reassurance when people need it most.

EMS in Sandown, and our region continues to evolve to meet the needs of our community.

Beyond emergency response, our EMS providers remain committed to strengthening community health through public education and outreach programs such as Vial of Life, CPR Training, and our AED Loaner Program.

Whether responding to an emergency, teaching lifesaving skills, or checking in through community outreach, our providers are committed to protecting the health and wellbeing of those we serve.

We are proud of the dedication, skill, and compassion our members bring to every call

Thank you to all EMS professionals for your service, and thank you to the Sandown community for trusting us to serve.

Rest in Peace Chief

The Hampstead Fire Department regrets to announce the passing of retired Fire Chief Walter "Chip" Hastings. Chip joined the department in 1967 along with his wife Susan and together they served for over 42 years. Chip served for 30 years as Chief of Department. He will be remembered fondly by the generations of firefighters he mentored in service to the community. Our thoughts are with his family.
Details of the funeral arrangements will be announced.
