The Old Meeting House- Sandown, NH The Old Meeting House in Sandown built in 1773 is the only meeting house in the country that is still in its original form.

Construction of the Old Meeting House began in 1773 and was completed in 1774. At the Old Meeting House, the Congregational Society held its service until it was dissolved in 1834, with town meetings being held from 1778 to 1929. Also used as a polling site, it is documented that voting during several presidential elections, beginning with George Washington were conducted at the Old Meeting House

. It is reported to be the only comparable edifice in New Hampshire preserved as originally designed. The tulip pulpit, the canopy of which is 30 feet above the floor, is a particularly fine ecclesiastical exhibit. The building is almost completely unchanged since it was built before the Revolutionary War, with even one third of its 1080 panes of glass being original to the 1773-1774 construction. This year's Annual Services will not be held. In lieu of the services we will be hosting an Open House on Saturday August 11, from 2-4pm. Following the Open House feel free to attend the Annual Firehouse Chicken BBQ at the Sandown Fire station located on Main Street. ·

So join us in supporting Sandown's great treause and enjoy some BBQ. What a wonderful way to spend a summer afternoon. Hope to see you then!

It is coming up soon!!! The Old Meeting House Annual Open House and Services.

OMH Open House is being held on Saturday August 13, from 2-4 pm

OMH Services will be on Sunday August 14, at 11am
Speakers this year will be Rev. Steven Murray and Pastor Paul Sweet.

The services will be followed by a traditional pot luck supper. $12pp.
