Sandpoint Concludes 2026 Coed Summer Softball Season

SANDPOINT, Idaho (August 5, 2026) — The City of Sandpoint Parks and Recreation Department wrapped up a successful Coed Summer Softball League on Tuesday evening with an exciting night of semifinal and championship games at Travers Park. Eleven teams competed throughout the summer, culminating in a series of closely contested playoff matchups.
The first semifinal featured the North Idaho Ballers against Kodiaks (Daher) in a high-scoring contest. The Ballers advanced to the championship game with a hard-fought 16–14 victory.
In the second semifinal, the Winter Ridge Kale Blazers faced Idaho Forest Group in one of the most exciting games of the season. The teams battled to an 8–8 tie through seven innings, forcing extra innings. The Kale Blazers scored six runs in the eighth inning to earn a spot in the championship game.
The championship game provided another thrilling finish. Trailing late, the Winter Ridge Kale Blazers took the lead on a dramatic two-run home run by Chase Sanroman, securing a 7–6 victory over the North Idaho Ballers to claim the 2026 Coed Summer Softball League Championship.
In the third-place game, Idaho Forest Group won by a score of 12–10, earning third place honors after another competitive matchup.

● 3rd Place: Idaho Forest Group
● 4th Place: Kodiaks
The 2026 Coed Summer Softball Season was a tremendous success, showcasing great competition, sportsmanship, and community spirit each week at Travers Park. We are grateful to all of the teams, players, officials, and community members who made this season so memorable, and we look forward to seeing everyone back next summer.

The City of Sandpoint is hiring a Recreation Coordinator to plan, organize, promote, and deliver a variety of adult and youth recreation programs for the City of Sandpoint. The position pays $21.63 and hour and a successful candidate will be able to work up to 20 hours per week.
