It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas for our friends on the U.S. Forest Service - Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests!

Honoring a 56-year tradition in which one of America’s 154 national forests provides a tree for the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol for the holiday season, the Nez Perce–Clearwater National Forests are providing the 2026 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree.

Known as “The People’s Tree,” this year’s tree is an 80-foot grand fir that will be decorated with thousands of handmade ornaments!

They are asking for YOUR help to tell the nation what makes Idaho so special.

Between now and September 1st, you can drop off your own creations at any of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests offices.

Ornament details can be found at: www.uscapitolchristmastree.com

📬Ornaments can also be mailed to:

Attn: 2026 CCT Ornament Team
