It is always exciting to see another native shoreline buffer taking shape! 🪴🌻

We recently worked with Pine City on planting native vegetation to help protect the shoreline and water quality at Challeen Park. Throughout the process, we stopped to take some progress pictures 📸!

🌾🌷Native plant buffers can help reduce erosion, slow and filter runoff, provide habitat for pollinators and other wildlife, and create a beautiful, low-maintenance landscape along the water.

Thank you to the City of Pine City / Pine City Parks and Recreation for putting conservation into action! We’re looking forward to watching these plants grow and seeing the benefits they provide for years to come.

A HUGE thank you to all the volunteers who came out and helped with the planting!

We also want to thank Prairie Restorations, Inc. for their hard work on this restoration project and for supplying us with native plants.

This project was partially funded with WBIF (Watershed-Based Implementation Funding) from the Snake River.

Want to visit Challeen Park? The park is located in Pine City at the end of 3rd Street SE.
