⚠️ Emerald Ash Borer is becoming more common in Pine and Kanabec Counties. This invasive insect poses a serious threat to our native ash tree species, and is expected to infest the entire state eventually.⚠️

This spring Pine and Kanabec Soil and Water Conservation Districts are coming together to offer a series of educational events for landowners who are concerned about this looming threat.

Join us THIS Saturday, May 30th at Sapsucker Farms https://www.kanabecswcd.org/2026-05-30-eab-workshop-at-sapsucker-farms-mora

🌲At this event you will learn about the insect, where it came from, what trees it will affect, why it poses such a threat to our forests, and what we can do about it. There will also be a food truck and drinks available for purchase provided by our hosts Sapsucker Farms.

To register follow the link above and for any additional questions contact Nick Foss at [email protected] or 320-216-4248.

Check out the strip till into cover crops right here in Pine County!

Cover Crops protect the ground especially in the early spring and strip till reduces disturbance across the field while still ensuring a firm seed bed for planting. Contact the SWCD today to find out more about this win win solution for soil health, water quality, and crop productivity. 320-216-4247.
