Spots are filling up fast, but you still have time to register for Safety Town! 🚲 🚦 🚶 🛑

Our Wightman-Wieber Safety Town program returns next week and is open to all children entering Kindergarten and covers everything they need to know before heading to school: fire safety, stranger danger, 911 and emergencies, road and railroad safety, animal and water safety, bus and transit safety, healthy living, and home safety.

Every participant goes home with a bicycle helmet, t-shirt, and certificate of completion.

This program is offered at no cost thanks to the Wightman-Wieber Community Foundation.

Sandusky's America 250 Drone Show on the Jackson Street Pier is coming up this Thursday, August 6 at 9:15pm!

This free show, presented by the Lange Trust of the Sandusky Library, will follow the last Party at the Pier concert of the season, featuring Earth To Mars - Tribute To Bruno Mars

This free community event at the Paper District Marina gives kids and community members of all ages a hands-on opportunity to explore the different utility, emergency and sports vehicles from throughout Erie County and beyond. The event runs from 4-7pm.

We're moving forward with the next phase of the Lions Park Shoreline Restoration Project!

Last night the City Commission approved a contract with SmithGroup to move into the detailed design and permitting phase. The plan will restore and protect 950 feet of shoreline along the Sandusky Bay, re-establish a beach and add wetland habitat, and expand public access for fishing, kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding. This design phase will build upon the conceptual design that was completed last year.

The project has now secured $750,000 from the Ohio Lake Erie Commission and $200,000 from the State Capital Budget, thanks in part to the support of State Rep. D.J. Swearingen and State Sen. Theresa Gavarone. Construction is anticipated in 2028.
