Level 3 Canceled, Downgraded to Level 2

All roads are passable because of the hard work and dedication of the road crews throughout the county last night and this morning. Therefore, the level 3 is downgraded to a level 2. All roads are open, but please continue to drive for the road conditions as most roads do have some snow pack or ice bonded to the pavement and these conditions may persist for the foreseeable future. Thank you to all of the road crews!!! Also, thank you to everyone for your cooperation and patience during yesterday’s storm.

Level 3 begins at 2 PM

Erie County will be going under a Level 3 Winter Weather Road Condition Warning beginning at 2 pm. Due to the heavy snowfall and winds, the road crews are having difficulty keeping the roads clear. Many township roads throughout the county are becoming difficult to travel on and some parts are impassable now. We anticipate the Level 3 remaining in effect until mid-morning tomorrow. We hope that with daybreak and the snow tapering off, the road crews will be able to make some headway and get the roads cleared off. Thank you for your cooperation.

Road crews made great headway last night and road conditions have greatly improved. The wind is much lighter this morning therefore the Level 2 Winter Weather Road Condition Advisory has been canceled. A Level 1 Winter Weather Road Condition Advisory has been issued as there are still icy spots on rural roadways throughout the county. Please drive safe!
