We had an awesome time hosting these young authors! Come visit the Children's Room to checkout their books!

Our young authors are officially published!

Students in the Handrahan, Wesp, and Ruggiere classrooms recently had the exciting opportunity to visit the Sandwich Public Library to barcode the books they created. This authentic publishing experience was a meaningful celebration of their hard work, creativity, and growth as writers.

There is something truly special about seeing student work become part of a real library collection. From brainstorming ideas to writing, revising, illustrating, and publishing, these students experienced the full journey of becoming authors.

Be sure to stop by the Sandwich Public Library and check out one (or more!) of their student-created books. We are incredibly proud of these talented writers and the teachers who helped make this memorable experience possible.

Volunteer Master Gardeners from the Master Gardener Association of Cape Cod are at the Library today to answer your gardening questions and share information throughout the summer season. Stop by the Library Lobby before 1:00pm to visit their information table!

Join Robert Thomson as he introduces the three local leaders tasked with curating Sandwich’s legacy. Were their choices inspired or shortsighted? What physical perils did the capsule endure during its hundred-year slumber? And finally, what was revealed when thousands gathered in the summer of 1976 to finally break the seal?

Have questions about your garden? Volunteer Master Gardeners from the
Master Gardener Association of Cape Cod will be available to answer your gardening questions, offer gardening advice, and share helpful information throughout the summer.
They will have a table set up in the Library Lobby on Thursdays from 11:00am-1:00pm on the following dates:

𝐌𝐚𝐩 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐩𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐲 - 𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟒 𝐚𝐭 𝟔:𝟎𝟎 𝐏𝐌.

Join us for a fun, informative night exploring the world of cartography with special guest Maps of Antiquity.
Each participant will receive a complimentary 21" x 17" black-and-white copy of a historic map from the Sandwich Town Archives. Hand-drawn by art teacher Jane "Jennie" Bradford Jones (1883-1971) in 1939 during a restoration of the 1834 Town Hall, the map illustrates Sandwich Village as it appeared between 1823 and 1888, the era the Boston and Sandwich Glass Factory operated in Jarvesville. Colored pencils will be provided.
